We are regular visitors to Mauritius, always staying in beachfront houses and I must say that Villa Veloutier’s location
is one of, if not the best we’ve been to.
Close to restaurants and supermarkets, dive center while the beach is really intimate.Nice long strolls can be taken along the picturesque beach.
The villa itself while it would require some update is very spacious and comfortable and clean but we hardy stayed inside as the enormous covered terrace was truly inviting.
There is also a housekeeping service every day except Sundays.
Jennita our housekeeper was very kind and I want to thank Stephanie from Smart Villas for her assistance when needed.

We, a group of 8 friends from the Netherlands, have had the opportunity to enjoy Villa Iris in Tamarin end of January/early February 2024. W E L O V E D I T!! With no exaggeration, we couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. Villa Iris is just amazing. It's very spacious outdoor area with lots of different places to sit together as a group or just enjoy away from the group with the eye-blinding view of the ocean. The large garden and the large area in front of the villa (to park cars) makes you feel very secluded. The pictures don't do justice to the experience both indoor and outdoor. Having the pool alongside (instead of in front of) the house works very well. The indoor seating area is comfortable with high quality TV and satellite system but you hardly stay there. The rooms are well maintained with comfortable beds/bedlinnen with both airco and fan. The cleaning/maid and the gardener/security people are very nice and supportive. The location is also nice especially if you want to combine watersports around La Morne but also want to take some trips up north.
Only caveat: the access road to the house from the main street is a bit difficult to find. Some signage would be helpful

A truly incredible Villa and vacation.
Our host Stephanie has been exceptional, always on hand to answer any questions we had and to give us recommendations about the local area.
The Villa itself was absolutely perfect, from the decor to the amenities to the breathtaking views and pool. The location was perfect to take a stroll on the beach and swim in the Sea - literally right on the door step.
A special mention to Rati our housekeeper who made our stay so relaxing by looking after us each day.
We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends and family.

Great location with the garden leading directly to a quiet and beautiful beach yet close enough to lots of lively restaurants and bars. We feel we got a real Mauritius experience. Our Housekeeper Annicke was so pleasant and helpful and the support from Marie of Smartvillas was always there for us when needed.

This villa is absolutely wonderful.The patio with that view can not be found anywhere.That is what makes this villa.The kitchen is fully equipped, there is everything.There are 6 bedrooms of which 2 have their own bathroom, the other parts of the One.Fine living room.Matrum we never used because of food group was on the patio.The staff Pricilla o Whiddi are so fantastic, helpful and very nice.We also met the owner of the house, she is so humble and friendly.We have found our paradise , we will be back.Can really recommend this villa, you will not find any better at Mauritius.Also a big warm thanks to Marie Legasse at Smart villa who always sets up and helps, she is fantastic.

So we really enjoyed our stay at Villa Porcelaine.. The villa was in great location and a good size. We very much enjoyed the deck and openness and appreciated all the seating. Pool was nice although didn’t use a lot. The house had all we needed and the bonus was having Preety and Brenda who were helpful and considerate and very friendly and made our stay more than pleasant and our bodies even bigger with great local Mauritian dishes.

We had a great vacation and enjoyed Mauritius a lot (3 weeks in January 2017). The villa was exactly as described and equipped with everything we needed. The area (Roches Noires) is very calm and the private beach was absolutely amazing and looked like on a postcard. The only thing that is quite annyoing are all these abandoned dogs on the beach that seem to be a big problem on the whole island.
We had an excellent cook (Sylvianne) every day that prepared the most wonderful seafood dishes. Her husband is a fisherman and everything was very nice and fresh.
Marie from Smartvillas did a great job and was very caring and helpful with every request that we had. We will and have already recommended Smartvillas and will definetly book with them again. However, next time we will follow Maries advise and book the airport transfer upon arrival and have the car deilvered to the villa. As it is quite exhausting to drive after such a long journey.

We really enjoyed our 2 weeks stay at Villa CapAna very much. The house is spacious, well equipped and furnished with a lot of taste and sensibility. The location is excellent with a small sandy beach about 100m from the house and a 15 min drive to Grand Baie with various options for shopping and restaurants. Marie is a very caring and dedicated agent and Devi, a lovely help in the house. Thank you very much.
We liked it so much, that we are thinking about a coming back in the near future.

It may be some time since we stayed at Villa Sentosa (apologies for the late review!) but it has stayed in my and my family's memory. The villa was perfection and much admired by myself and my father (both architects who I would like to think recognise good design when we see it; the high quality of the finishes, the way spaces flowed into one another... some of the bathrooms are particularly special, opening out onto small private tropical gardens, blah blah I could go on and on about how amazing this villa is). Everyone else loved it too! Nobody felt they got a bad room, they're all great and with sea views. The close proximity of the sea and the privacy of the garden were brilliant. There were lots of different places to chat and enjoy each others company or to sit alone, read a book and enjoy the views. We had a toddler with us and he loved the pool. The staff were delightful. Laundry was spirited away, food prepared excellently and the garden and pool kept immaculate. Get a hire car as it is too far to walk into town, you will appreciate having a car to explore the rest of the island. The delightful lady owner organised one for us. Snorkeling is not great directly in front of villa but there are other places on the island to snorkel. The beach itself is great to walk along, it's a nice amble to the 5star resorts further down Pointe Aux Cannoniers and one can feel a sense of smugness knowing you got so much more for your money.

We chose the villa to spend a two week family celebraton over Christmas 2014 with our two sons in their twenties. It looked wonderful in the photos and was even better in reality. We are lucky enough to travel a lot and have high standards but his was the loveliest villa and setting that we have ever stayed in. The house is just wonderful, right on the beach and perfect for relaxing. We became very lazy as we just wanted to stay in and enjoy the house and location. We loved the kayaks and were able to arrange boat-trips very easily. The area is a real bonus as the actual house and location is a real retreat and so tranquil but the small town with its restaurants, supermarkets etc is just nearby and easily within walking distance. The agency was wonderful and helpful in arranging the car and taxi service and we got to love Preety and Brenda who were with us every morning to cook and clean. We were really spoilt by them (especially the fresh mango smoothies) and just loved their company; it made our holiday even more interesting. We will return without doubt and completely recommend the villa to anyone looking for a large comfortable holiday house in a stunning location.
