Located in Goodlands, a typical village in the north of Mauritius, 3 sailing enthusiasts embark on the adventure of Historic Marine which opens its doors in 1982.
Specialized in the manufacture of models of exceptional boats, they reproduce with every detail, the famous boats in the history of the world: from the Caravelle of Christopher Columbus to the last winner of the Vendée Globe, through the Astrolabe, the Titanic or Saint Géran or Manitou, JF Kennedy’s famous yacht.
More than 30 craftsmen cabinetmakers, guided by concern for the quality and accuracy of finishing, form a talented crew who average 26 years of experience in the trade. Making a model boat begins with the search for the original plans of the ship, photos, illustrations, and information related to its making. Known throughout the world for the quality of their work and attention to detail, Historic Marine was honored to welcome celebrities such as Johnny Halliday, King of Sweden, Duke and Duchess to his garment workshop. York, Jacques Chirac, Prime Minister of Malaysia, President François Mitterrand, Amitabh Bachchan, and many others.
During your visit, one of our representatives will introduce you to the workshop where each stage of manufacture – entirely made by hand – is explained : from the design of the hull to the rigging of the ship, extremely delicate step. You will end the visit by the showroom where more than 150 models are on display. Each model is accompanied by its certificate of authenticity, a serial number and model, and is guaranteed for life.
Ensuring delivery worldwide, special care in packaging is provided to ensure delivery in the best conditions.
In recent years, Historic Marine has been offering its customers a new service: MYBOATREPLICA, where owners of sailboats and motorboats can have their own boat reproduce identically.
